This website is all about Horse Lovers! I have been a horse lover all my life.
I learned to ride when I was 11, but it took me until I was 45 to get my first horse.
During my early years, I showed hunters & jumpers with some success.

Then I went to college, got married, had a son and lived some life.
All the while knowing there was a huge hole in my life where horses used to be. It was unbearable.

So, one day I left work and decided I didn't want to live in a big city anymore. I moved to beautiful, rural South Carolina, and bought my first horse. He was a beauty! A grade quarter horse we nicknamed Moochie.

And now we have more - Bucky, Doodlebug and Radar, the Donkey.
What's that saying, "You can never be too thin, too rich or have too many horses!"????

Anyway, shortly after Moochie tried to kill not only me, but our vet, too
(and he looks so innocent, doesn't he?), I decided I needed help. And I needed it fast!

It has been an incredible journey.
Before I even got started, we lost Moochie.
He had contracted Bacterial Meningitis and had to be put down.
I miss him every day, yet he is with me always.

So, then there was Bucky - adorable, funny, smart, unconfident, loveable, (did I say adorable?), Bucky.
He just has to be one of the funniest horses on the planet, and he belongs to me!
Well, maybe I belong to him, who really knows?

Bucky has taught me so much in the last few years. Together we've become a team.
That's something I dreamed about for a long time, but had no expectation that it would really happen.

About a year after we got Bucky, a little mare stole my heart. Her name is Doodlebug.
She is just the sweetest little rescue pony there has ever been!
Thank goodness I knew something about natural horsemanship before she came into our lives!
It took 6 months just to get her to come into her stall to eat. Thanks for teaching me about patience, Doodle!

Fancy Lady aka Doodlebug

Radar came to us in February, 2007. He is a wonderful teacher - Yoda with long ears. We are learning so much from him:
"Life is supposed to be fun and if it's not fun, then I'm not doing it."
"Food is everything."
"You scratch my back and I'll stand still while you do it."
"Surely you don't think you can make me follow you around with just that little halter and that long rope, do you?!?!"
